National Chef of the Year Winners Visit Wild Fox Distillery: A Culinary Journey Through Bowland’s Bounty

We were thrilled to welcome the esteemed winners of the National Chef of the Year (UK) competition to Wild Fox Distillery this year, as part of their incredible prize sponsored by Continental Chef Supplies. This marks our second year hosting the talented chefs, and it was a truly memorable experience.

This year’s culinary stars included:

• Alex Angelogiannis

• Cleverson Cordeiro

• Orry Shand

• David Mulcahy

As part of their prize, the chefs embarked on a foodie tour of the picturesque Bowland Fells and Bays, discovering the hidden gems of our local food scene. They met with passionate farmers, producers, and artisans who showcased the best that our corner of the country has to offer. From locally sourced ingredients to traditional food-making techniques, the chefs experienced the authentic flavors that inspire our local cuisine.

At Wild Fox Distillery, we were honored to have these culinary masters visit us for the second consecutive year. In fact, we were humbled to learn that some of the returning chefs had specifically requested to come back to what they fondly refer to as the “Twelve Bore Distillery.” The warmth and enthusiasm of these chefs, alongside the unique nature of our distillery, made the experience even more special for us.

As an extra treat for the visiting chefs, Kin, one of our stills, was busy distilling our famous Twelve Bore gin on the day of their visit. Lizzie, was only too happy to offer the chefs a chance to sample this freshly distilled spirit directly from the parrot – a true testament to the distillation process. At a staggering 87%, it was pure nectar, and the chefs were able to experience the raw intensity and craftsmanship that goes into creating such a distinctive, high-quality product. The rich aromas and complex flavours were the perfect way to showcase the magic of distilling in action.

After their tour, courtesy of Bowland and Bay Artisan Foodie Adventures, the chefs headed to Northcote Restaurant to partake in the Obsession event. There, they had the rare opportunity to feast on a culinary delight from three Michelin-starred chefs, Hélène Darroze and Marco Zampese. It was an unforgettable evening celebrating the art of fine dining, and a perfect end to their extraordinary culinary journey.

At Wild Fox Distillery, we are incredibly proud to be part of such a rich, vibrant, and innovative food and drink culture. Hosting these culinary legends is always an inspiring experience, and we look forward to continuing to support and celebrate the creativity of the UK’s finest chefs.

Here’s to another year of food, drink, and unforgettable memories!
